If you're familiar with anything regarding the Light Duty pickup segment, you'll know that the RAM 1500 lineup has some of the best power and utility in the business. For the 2014 model year, that won't be changing much. But being as RAM Trucks is greatly remiss to not push limits, they've offered a new HEMI V-8 engine that offers the highest fuel economy numbers of any other V-8 engine.
This engine is one of three that will be available on the 2014 RAM 1500. Aside from the 5.7-liter HEMI V-8, there will also be a 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 and a six cylinder EcoDiesel that will hit the lineup at a later date.
While the official fuel economy numbers for the HEMI V-8 are still forthcoming, it's worthy of note that the Pentastar V-6 and EcoDiesel won't be pushovers, either. The former, in fact, will get an ample 18 mpg city and 25 mpg highway, and the latter diesel option is projected to make the 1500 even more fuel efficient than its competition. With the EcoDiesel projected to be able to tow 9,200 pounds, that'll be quite a bit indeed.
With fewer stops at the pump, Griffin Motor Company is sure you'll have even more creek splashing, trail blazing, off-road fun with the new RAM 1500. Keep an eye on our blog for news about when it hits our showroom.
