When it comes to finding out more about what we can expect from forthcoming new Jeep models, there's perhaps no one better to speak with than the company's CEO, Mike Manley. Here at Griffin Motors Company, we're always interested in what this automotive industry heavyweight has to say, and we were thrilled to hear that he recently sat down with a British publication called BoldRide for a revealing interview.

Many of you out there, including some Meadville area drivers, have wondered what's going on with the diesel platforms that seem to be making their way into the lineup. Manley said that the diesel engine that some have speculated would show up on the Jeep Wrangler will only indeed appear if there is a good amount of success with the alternative engine on the Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Initial feedback has been good, however, and so you may soon see more diesel powered Jeep vehicles prowling the streets of the Edinboro, Greenville, and Franklin areas.

Manley also addressed several other aspects of the brand's decision-making process when it comes to new models, saying, "The first thing is every vehicle has to meet all the safety regs that is not negotiable. It has to meet those and exceed those safety regs. There are certain things that make a [W]rangler a [W]rangler, the fold down screen taking the doors off, the open-air experience. Those things are possible because of the Wrangler's roll cage. Priority is #1 safety, #2 is to be true to Wrangler."1
