As much as we love us a quality pickup here at Griffin Motors Company, we're well aware that Meadville, PA isn't exactly the pickup capital of the nation. Not surprisingly, that honor goes to none other than the Lone Star State. Then again, that doesn't mean we don't share common interests.
Ever since the 2014 Ram 1500 made its way to our dealership, we've been singing its praises like no other. A towing capacity of 4,800 lbs., a max payload of 1,520 lbs., plus a 3.6-liter V6 engine that gets up to 305 horsepower and 269 lb.-ft. of torque? What's not to love?
Such was the general consensus when the Texas Auto Writers Association got together to hand out their annual Truck of Texas awards. With 63 trucks, crossovers and SUVs in the running for 24 various accolades, it goes without saying that the competition was stiff. But, who are we kidding, this is Ram we're talking about.
When all was said and done, Ram drove off with nine of the said awards. First and foremost, they were named the official Truck Line of Texas, an honor that says it all. Not only that, but the 2014 Ram 1500 was deemed the Best Fullsize Pickup Truck of the Year and the official Truck of Texas. Talk about your all-time stamps of approval.
Needless to say, we're just brimming with pride over here. And if you'd like to experience this award-winning pickup for yourself, your test drive awaits you at our dealership. After all, Texas wouldn't lie about something like this.
